Our friends from Restube offer a great safety backup for your time on the water. Due to its small size and light weight, it’s a perfect fit for your Smartkat.

Restube can be easily worn around your waist, regardless of where you are or what you’re doing. Should you get into trouble while out on the water, all you need to do is pull the trigger. The Restube buoy will inflate in seconds and you can use its support to keep your head above the water.
Restube Classic

Restube Sports

with its safety splint and an exchangeable belt system, the sports version is for rougher use. Suitable for Smartkat adventures, kite surfing, windsurfing, surfing, and SUP.

Can I reuse Restube multiple times?

Yes, by simply replacing the CO2 cartridge. The package includes one attached CO2 cartridge which can be replaced after use.

Where is Restube developed and produced?

The company's headquarters and manufacturing facilities are located in Berghausen, near Karlsruhe, Germany.

Can I bring a Restube on a plane?

Yes. According to the IATA, up to 4 CO2 cartridges may be brought onto an airplane. The cartridges should be registered by phone before starting your trip. At the airport, show the supplied green flyer. As a safety measure, put a copy of the flyer around your Restube and into your checked baggage. The Restube’s built-in CO2 cartridge has to be unscrewed prior to the flight.

Is drowning a serious problem?

Each year, up to 40,000 people drown in Europe, including many athletes. Approximately 100 people die in the water every day. Around 80 percent of all drownings could be prevented by quick or early intervention. The number of fatalities is likely much higher. Drowning incidents are often not reported in vacation areas to preserve the reputation of the resort. In addition, this number does not include natural disasters, suicide, or the plight of refugees.

Facts and Figures:

The fully-inflated Restube buoy has a buoyancy of 75N, which is equal to over 7 kg of lift. Leaning onto the Restube buoy keeps your head above water. The buoy can also be inflated by mouth. After use, you can store it back its convenient pocket. You can also wave with the buoy to call for attention.

The high-quality material of the Restube buoy corresponds with the European norm DIN EN ISO 12402 for lifejackets. You can be sure of having a high quality and long-lasting product at hand which stays inflated even in rough conditions. Every buoy is quality checked for firmness after production.
100% QUALITY. ENGINEERED IN GERMANY. Restube´s close cooperation with universities, water sports ambassadors, and professional lifesavers ensures that the technology is undergoing constant improvement.
CARRY THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS WITH YOU. The Restube classic has an integrated small pocket in the closing cap. Use it for your keys or a little change for ice cream (not water proof).
HORIZONTAL & VERTICAL MOUNTABLE. The Restube classic can be horizontally or vertically mounted at belt level. If you wear the Restube vertically down the middle of your back (with the trigger facing downwards), you won´t even notice it after you’ve been swimming for a while.
As Restube is a safety partner at many European events, thousands of swimmers have used one during their races. 99% of these swimmers gave very positive feedback and were surprised at how quickly they forgot the Restube was even there. More importantly, they felt comforted by the added peace of mind that wearing a Restube provided.
SMALL-SIZED, LIGHTWEIGHT AND REUSABLE. Screwing in a new cartridge is all that’s required to keep your Restube ready for action. Cartridges are saltwater proof, have a dial to check the volume level, and a trigger cap that matches the certified trigger.
