Wind information:
Save the sailing until the afternoon. The prevailing wind (from the NW) in the Ionian doesn't pick up until 2-3pm. Morning sailing can be a frustrating business. The Ionian Islands are known for their gorgeous summers and light winds. The prevailing wind during the peak summer is extremely calm mornings, building to a very manageable northwest Force 3-4, by mid-afternoon. At the beginning and end of the season (May & October), the weather can be slightly more changeable, meaning that good wind is more common. You can expect temperatures of around 30°C during July/August with it dropping to around 23°C in May and October.
